The book shows past and present with two points of view: Olivia and Lily.
The book focuses on the investigation of Lily’s death (in the 1st chapter, we know that she died so it is not a spoiler).
It’s very cool for those who enjoy judicial plots, because good part of the book is about the trial and whether Asher is or is not the culprit and we’re going to have a LOT of revelations during the reading. Could not recommend more!
